Liberation Yoga presents a weekend of Trauma Sensitive Yoga Training with Amy Green! These workshops offer core concepts and introduce you to the application of Trauma Sensitive Yoga. Whether you are a yoga teacher, a survivor, teacher, or a practitioner- you will walk away with tools to integrate into your life and settings to facilitate greater healing and awareness when working with people affected by trauma. No previous yoga experience is required. This workshop will include a combination of group discussion, lecture, and practices (yoga movement, chair postures) and meditation. In this module you will learn: · A comprehensive trauma informed resource guide · Overview of evidenced based research and in support of trauma informed yoga practices · A review of current neurobiology of trauma and the intersection of mind-body tools · Introduction to trauma informed practices · Comprehensive overview of trauma & complex stress · integration of choice and empowerment · Common themes and tools to promote resiliency and recovery · Structure of classes & ways to integrate breath, mindfulness, mantra, and meditation · Trauma informed sequences to create classes, as well as therapeutic benefits of restorative yoga postures · Practice teaching opportunities · Overview of collaborative care in community · Resource guide with tools for referrals to integrate into healing · Shadow Work: Carl Jung’s concept of “the shadow” in yoga and integrating the unconscious Saturday, May 9th | 1pm-6pm Sunday, May 10th | 11am- 4pm $225 self enrichment
